Below is an account of the various realms and other territories under control by the Kallean Empire, Realms and territory will be added or subtracted as the empires borders change.
The capital realm of the empire, Kallea is an realm of small island chains that dot the landscape, the realm is populated aside from other imperial races by the native Kalleans, a mermaid like species capable of taking a humanoid form. Kallea was the first realm of the Empire, having been unified some 3,000 years ago during the formation wars it has changed little since. On the surface small cities dot the island landscape while below the waters surface massive underwater cities have been created in the coral reefs by the native Kalleans, though there are air chambers that allow limited travel among these cities by outsiders. The Kalleans themselves are rather secretive about thier underwater existance though many have elected to live in the island chains given the amount of other species travelling to this realm. Kallea is described to all as the 'Jewel of the Empire'.
The second realm to join the empire, and home to the Native Praxians, a giant tortoise like creature, it was the only realm that completly joined the empire of its own accord, established the 'Pact of Union' with Kallea when the Kalleans discovered the realm some 2,700 years ago. Generally welcoming to any and all outsiders the realm of Praxar is almost completly a desert minus a few oasises scattered among its surface. The Praxians were instrumental in guiding the younger species of Kallea in the manner of warfare and civil codes. Praxar does not have a ton in the form of timber materials to offer but it does account for almost 40% of the metals and ore used in the Empire's civil and military production. While the natives are welcoming not many Kalleans or travellers venture to this windswept land given its barren nature. Some speculate that had it not been for the Kallean's intervention and welcoming of the Praxaians into the empire that the Praxan race may of went extinct by now due to the desolate lands.
A realm much like Kallea, the native Kirteans nearly turned the tide during the war that brought this realm into the empire, it was only through diplomacy and the winning of a critical battle that the war that had lasted almost 130 years was brought to a close and the Katrian realm joined the empire. Since its joining some 2,470 years ago it has devloped into a beacon of strength for the empire. The realm of Katria is populated by a fae like species of women called the Kirteans, similar to the ratio of 9:1 female to male of the Kalleans, the Kirtean species has an almost identical ratio leading to the society's domination by females. It boasts much the same resources as Kallea, and its warrior society has produced some of the finest soldiers the empire has ever known. While the Kirteans were forcibly conquered it did not take long for the misunderstandings that created the war to be explained and many speculate that had war not been declared the Katrian realm would of joined the empire of it's own accord.
An inevitable conquest if the empire was to grow some 1,600 years ago, the realm of Mirelia is populated by humans and boasts a rather mild climate when compared to the hurricanes that rage in the Katrian and Kallean realms. The Mirelians as they call themselves were first welcoming of the Kallean Empire, though the Kalleans whos DNA is dominant during reproduction were quick to see the advantage for thier species that occupying the Mirelian realm would provide. A membership proposal to Mirelia was dispatched and refused, and war ensued thereafter. The war between Mirelia and the Empire did not last long given the Mirelian soldiers motivation was found to be lacking, though to date amazonian tribes have been known to offer resistance to imperial forces. A combination of seduction and diplomacy was used after conquest to ensure loyalty of the native population and while the native human females posses equal rights they are commonly looked down on by the Kalleans and Kirteans who see them as only required to ensure the production of human males, this leads to many amazonian tribes being created, though most remain peacfull towards the empire and its mission some have been known to rebel from time to time.
Populated by the native Pultean species, the realm of Pultea did not stand up to the enslaught of the imperial forces when the first invasions occured. One of the newest adition to the empire some 600 years ago, the realm of Pultea is populated by a canine like species. Had it not been for the mineral deposits in the realm of Pultea it is quite possible the Empire may of sealed the passes into the realm to deny the Pultean hordes access to the other realms, given they are seen as something of a nuisance to the other species of the empire. While they are only about 6' high and not the smartest of races, in large groups they have been known to overwhelm targets. It is quite possible if propely equipped these fighters could be made into a formidible force given thier agile nature and natural build however due to the manner in which they joined the empire and the fact they openly refuse to modernize to imperial standards they are most commonly used as disposable cannon fodder infantry or to tire an enemy force before the main assualt occurs.
Kallean Holdings: 20%
Gnolam Holdings: 70%
The current battleground of Imperial ambition and the native realm of the Gnolam, a massive rhinocerous like species, the realm of Anaxi has proven one of the toughest conquests yet for the Kallean Empire. the Realm of Anaxi has seen a constant state of war between the Gnolam and the Kallean Empires for almost the last 150 years with neither side giving much territory to the other aside from what the Kallean's took in the intitial invasion. The realm of Anaxi has been deemed of a high strategic value to the empire due to the fact it's production and raw materials for war nearly equal that of all the other realms combined, which also unfortunatly makes the Gnolam Empire into a war machine all its own and rather resistant to imperial conquests thus far.
